Dr. Santolaria, MD, holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Zaragoza. He is a specialist in Family and Community Medicine via MIR at the Hospital de Viladecans, and also a specialist in Geriatrics via MIR at the Hospital de San Juan Despí Moisès Broggi.
He subsequently complemented his training by obtaining a Master's degree in Psychogeriatrics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and is a member of the Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SEGG).
He currently carries out his professional activity as Medical Director of the Molins de Rei Clinic, a medical center with a Hospitalization unit specializing in geriatric patient care, where he coordinates the Geriatrics and Dementia Unit.
He is responsible for attending consultations for the study of cognitive impairment, making the diagnosis, assessing the treatment, monitoring patients and advising relatives on the evolution of the disease to help to accompany both the patient and their family in making decisions according to the evolution of the degenerative disorder.
During his professional career, he has accumulated experience in the management of both the area of psychogeriatrics and dementias as well as different geriatric syndromes, management of chronic pathologies typical of the elderly, decompensations, experience in palliative patients such as oncological, medical or due to the evolution of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, always considering a global vision of the geriatric patient and support for the primary caregiver.
