Dr. Padrell, MD, PhD, obtained her medical degree in Spain and later moved to the United States to complete her residency in psychiatry, obtaining her PhD in Basic Psychopharmacology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.

She has more than 25 years of experience and extensive training in different fields of the specialty, having contributed to and published several clinical research studies. She has combined her clinical work with teaching, as a professor of MIR students and residents in various hospitals in the United States and Catalonia. At the same time, she has been developing an intense research and dissemination activity, through her work in multiple research projects. She has authored numerous scientific articles in the specialty and is a regular speaker at conferences.

She is an expert in Psychopharmacology, affective disorders such as depression and bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and OCD, disorders resistant to usual treatments with transcranial magnetic stimulation and esketamine, psychogeriatrics (from mild cognitive disorders to dementia), and transcultural psychiatry.
